What We Didn't Like

Magnets are mild — a hard bump still shifts the board.

In the box

  • Folding board
  • 32 magnetic pieces
  • bag

What it actually does

Magnetic pieces that stay put in the car, on a train, anywhere. Magnetic Chess Set by BoardCraft, sized for ages 6-99. We keep the listing honest: everything below is what we measured on our own test shelf, not what the box promises. Inside the box: Folding board, 32 magnetic pieces, bag. One real limitation: Magnets are mild — a hard bump still shifts the board.

Honest note: the first unit had a sticky wheel, support replaced it in three days without an argument.

Battery life is the weak point, but the play value in that window is high. Only gripe: small parts need supervision.

My daughter is a bit younger than the recommended age and needed help at first. Fine now. Only gripe: needs smooth floor.

Ordered on a Tuesday, delivered Thursday. Packaging was solid and nothing was loose in the box. Only gripe: battery could be bigger.
